Requiring just a standard 120 volt plug in and no venting to worry about this is a very popular model for homeowners wanting a fireplace without having to deal with extensive renovation costs. A corner gas fireplace will require much more work to install than a typical electric fireplace. That being said gas fireplaces produce significantly more heat than electrical fireplaces, and if you intend to use the fireplace on a regular basis I would recommend a natural gas fireplace. Other considerations to be aware of when installing a corner gas fireplace is where and how will the unit vent?  How difficult is it to access the gas line? Also make sure there is adequate clearance from any combustible materials.
